Join us for an inspiring evening of portrait drawing in the heart of Southport.
Whether you're picking up a pencil for the first time or you're an experienced artist looking to develop your skills, Portrait Club is a welcoming, relaxed space to enjoy drawing from a live seated model alongside other local creatives.
Led by professional artist Lauren McInerney, each two-hour session includes a mixture of quick warm-up sketches and longer poses, giving you the opportunity to experiment with different approaches while building confidence and improving your observational drawing skills. Lauren will be on hand throughout the evening to offer guidance, tips and encouragement, while allowing you the freedom to work at your own pace and in your own style.
There is no pressure to create a perfect drawing. These sessions are about slowing down, enjoying the creative process and connecting with other people who share a love of art.
At the end of the session, there will be an optional opportunity to share your work with the group. Sharing is completely voluntary, and you're very welcome to simply enjoy the experience.
What to bring
Please bring your own sketchbook and any drawing materials you enjoy using, such as:
A small selection of basic materials, including pencils, charcoal and paper, will be available for anyone who needs them.
