Art Ease are currently providing monthly art workshops to a men’s group through Brighter Living Southport. The men’s group is a group of men or varying ages and abilities, from the surrounding area who get together on a weekly basis to try new activities and socialise. We are working on different exercises each month based around memory, identity and long forgotten skills from youth.

We make a difference

  • Helps me communicate my illness

“The exercise in continuous line helped me to express my experience of living with vertigo. I would never have thought of this without Emmys help”.

  • Takes me back to my childhood

“(whilst making collages of childhood memories) I am reminded of the back alleys and the bins at the back of our council house in St Helens. I am being truthful, this is what it was like. I am lucky to have what i have now. This exercise made me realise how far i have come in life”.

  • It's interesting to investigage how i see myself

“The self portrait exercise was interesting. I have been retired for many years now but i still see myself as a serviceman. It is a part of my identity”
